Here at AGS we integrate computers and new technologies as much as possible to enhance our curriculum and help children learn key skills. All classes have access to iMac Apple desktop computers with Windows facilities in our specialist Computer Suite to develop their computing skills.
Children also have access to Multimedia tools where they can develop their creative computing skills to help them make their own movies, animations, create comics, compose music and more! We even have our own special green screen to help transport children directly into their films!
AGS also provides access to learning through GAFE, Google Apps for Education, where students access the home learning through the virtual classroom and are able to enhance their learning through the use of the latest Google Technology.
In Year 7 and 8 pupils follow the Key Stage 3 curriculum.
In line with the Computing Curriculum, we have integrated our own scheme of work for computing. Children will learn skills across a range of topics including coding and programming their own games and apps! There is also the opportunity for them to develop and refine other computer life skills such as typing, word processing, data handling, creating and editing pictures etc. Central to all of the work covered is how to use the Internet in an effective way including how to keep safe, protect our information and about cyber-bullying.
